“Always remember the future comes one day at a time”. Dean Acheson
It would be nice to be able to have instantaneous change but that is next to impossible but starting with small things all helps change. Not that you are going to do it, because hey – you are wasting your time reading my blog instead of having a life, but start by being nice to the next person!!
I have had the unfortunate displeasure of watching a little of “Hotter than my daughter“. I have no idea why it was on that channel but sometimes shit happens, and this was a case of that! And it was vile. They were meant to help people and honestly the people left worse off than when they began and you would wonder how that was possible. Apparently there are depts of horrifying that you cannot imagine but this show just goes there. Watch at your own peril!
Unreligious: “If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?”
Priest: “No, not if you did not know.”
Unreligious: “Then why did you tell me?”
Think about it! Is it fair? Yet it is done. It is the story of Adam and Eve all over again. Apparently, we do not learn from our mistakes! Let’s take the rest of the world down with us!
Apparently man’s best friend is valued at more than his own worth! What am I rambling on about? Well I was watching TV and there were 2 adverts running after each other. Both adverts were for charities and both asking for money.
One was for a dog’s rescue centre and the other was the NSPCC for the protection of children. Interestingly, the charity for the dogs rescue asked for twice the amount that the charity for the protection of children was asking for. This begets the question, “Is the life of the dog worth more? Or is it that it really costs minute amounts to protect children (and as a society, we still don’t)?
Capital punishment is usually carried out by lethal injection. It comprises 3 parts. One to put them to sleep, one to paralyse them and the last potassium to stop the heart. A point to note is that death by lethal injection destroys organs. Death by hanging, on the other hand, leaves the organs in perfect condition as the person dies because they break their neck.
There are issues of cruelty on both counts, however, for the point of this post, I won’t go into the morality. I am taking the fact that people awarded capital punishment deserve it and all they get, as fact.
I feel that if someone has commit a crime so heinous as to deserve capital punishment, than the least that the person can do is automatically give back to the community by “donating” their organs.
Here is a puzzler… Sky and other TV services often offer live event video streaming but Sky also offer the ability to “pause live tv“. So my question is if you pause “live tv“, then it is no longer live is it?
Does it make you wonder about the validity of paying surplus to watch something live and then pause it to watch it on delay?
The property market is currently on everyone’s lips with all the economic issues that are happening. With the dramatic fluctuations on the FTSE, the property market has obviously slowed down. People wait with baited breathe. Will prices rise or drop? What will happen to the bank rates and hence the changes to the amount we pay on our mortgages.
Rumour has it that things will settle in around a year. But then that is what it is… Rumour!
People see the current property market as a negative situation. However I feel that the way you see it is obviously very dependant on your own economic situation. In my case, the situation is actually a positive one as I am looking to buy a property but not sell. It gives me to opportunity to buy low and not have to sell low. It also means that as the property recovers, I can hopefully make a killing. However, it is all about perspective.
With increased mortgage rates, people may struggle to pay their mortgage and have to sell and perhaps downsize or rent. But as people are hesitant to buy because they hope the prices drop further or because they hope they will get more for their property, it means the market slows down. It means that selling quickly gets harder. People can use business services, where they can get cash for property instantaneously. Not an easy choice, but sometimes it works out being the lesser of two evils. It is better to sell at a lower rate quickly than to lose a house to repossession (and lose a lot of money).
Meanwhile, I shall be keeping my eye open for a good buy. With the market being what it is, I hope it means that I can get myself a good deal.
As I said… it is all about perspective!
I was watching Super Botox Me on TV … and in case you are wondering, it is because I would not rule out botox in the future. It brought tears to my eyes. It looks painful. I am aware of the saying “no pain – no gain” but seriously this looks painful. And why do we do it? So we can look as close to picture perfect as humanly possible. We just want to look like those airbrushed models and celebrities!
Will I do consider it despite the pain. You bet! I am as shallow as the rest of the human population. Now to fund those few thousand quid every few months!!
I always wondered where the ANY KEY was!!

“It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious.” Oscar Wilde
Fair enough. I fall into the latter category as you may have obviously realised. Mind you, so do most people. Thinking about it, so do the people who try to be charming fall into the tedious category. Are there any truly charming people? Are all people simply tedious? Hmmm….
